Video Production Lighting Basics

For many novice video producers, lighting causes many concerns and seems very complicated. Lighting for the production of video can, complicated, but it is not to be.

I specialize in video as simple as possible, while maintaining a professional look. I can sum up everything you know about lighting in just three key points:

1. Harsh direct sunlight =
2. Soft diffused light =
3. Which way is the lightfrom?

If you learn the importance of these three words, I promise to improve your lighting efforts enormously.

Let's start with the first two points to start. They are linked.
The light comes in two forms, direct and diffused. Direct sunlight is looking difficult and frightening, and the diffused light is soft and flattering to the face.

If you remember the physics of elementary school, ray of light always drive in a straight line. Imagine the night with a flashlight. You can seefull beam, and it is now. If you want to illuminate an object, you must shine your flashlight directly on it. This is an example of direct light travels in one direction, straight as an arrow.

It diffuses the light when light rays reflecting hit just a little 'and then bounce out of it. Bounce in a straight line, but usually there are many straight shots, that the effect of light rays bouncing off every-so-have.

Astandard light bulb is painted white to light the white light and diffuse radiation bounce hit on the inside.

Another example of direct and diffused light is to think of being on a cloudy day or a sunny day outdoors. In a bright sunny day, you have direct sunlight, deep shadows and gives a lot of shadows have different edges.

On a cloudy day, the clouds diffuse the light when it is cloudy enough, there are no shadows on everything.Since the light is in every-which-way-jumping, any shadows in the light bounces full potential and eliminated.

In general I want you to spread the video output of light. If you make a monster movie, with scattered light to look good.

Most of the gadgets that come to light a professional kit for the sole purpose of spreading the available light, if you do not have a professional lighting kit you can have a widespread effect, made using lightagainst the ceiling or wall and bounce. Set your camera at will. They will thank you. Not only look better, but it's terribly inconvenient to them and squint to keep.

Let's talk about 'the third point. In which direction the light is off?

It is the first source of light your camera online? Behind them? On the side? Behind? In which direction the light comes from having a huge impact on howlooks like.

In general, you want the source of light before or after the page where your camera talent. They do not want them back when you try to hide their identity. The light coming from behind is silhouette. Video Searches usually take one, that the technique sleazebags who wish to remain anonymous.

This is a mistake that I see often. People are right, standing at the window, thinking that the light of the Addenough light to watch their intake well. Probably it would be if the person facing the camera, the light falls on his face and not your back.

There you have it, the basics of lighting for video production.
